The combo ticket allows you to enjoy both the Omi Jingu illumination and the Saikyo-ji Temple Wind Chime Path illumination. Experience two different summer night atmospheres at a historic shrine and temple.

You do not need to choose a visit date when purchasing your ticket. Your ticket can be used once on any eligible event date during the valid period for the ticket type you purchase.

As night falls over the ancient city of Otsu, the grounds of Omi Jingu Shrine are transformed by beautiful light displays.
The Romon Gate will feature projection mapping, while the shrine grounds will offer light displays inspired by Omi Jingu’s unique connection with the history of time, including its sundial, fire clock, and water clock.
Omi Jingu Shrine is dedicated to Emperor Tenji, who is said to have announced the time in Japan for the first time about 1,350 years ago. Enjoy a special summer evening surrounded by the history and atmosphere of this important shrine connected to the origins of timekeeping in Japan.

At Omi Jingu, enjoy light displays inspired by the theme of time. At Saikyo-ji Temple, enjoy the illuminated Wind Chime Path and the peaceful atmosphere of a historic temple on a summer night.

How to Use the Combo Ticket
1 Please visit Omi Jingu Shrine first Show the QR code issued after purchase at the Omi Jingu Shrine entrance reception.
2 Enter the Omi Jingu Shrine illumination After your QR code is checked, you may enter and enjoy the Omi Jingu illumination.
3 Receive a paper ticket for Saikyo-ji Temple At the Omi Jingu reception, you will receive a paper ticket for admission to Saikyo-ji Temple.
4 Show the paper ticket at Saikyo-ji Temple Please present the paper ticket you received at Omi Jingu when entering Saikyo-ji Temple.
Important
The combo ticket must be used first at Omi Jingu Shrine. You cannot start by entering Saikyo-ji Temple first.
Omi Jingu Shrine and Saikyo-ji Temple are located in different areas. You do not need to visit both venues on the same day. If you plan to visit both on the same day, please check travel time and transportation in advance. The travel time by car is approximately 15 minutes.
If you complete the combo ticket reception at Omi Jingu Shrine by Sunday, August 23, 2026 and receive the paper ticket for Saikyo-ji Temple, that paper ticket can be used at Saikyo-ji Temple on eligible illumination dates until Sunday, September 6, 2026.

If you purchase the combo ticket, please visit Omi Jingu Shrine first.
Show your QR code at the Omi Jingu reception and receive a paper ticket for Saikyo-ji Temple.
You cannot enter Saikyo-ji Temple first with the combo ticket.
4 Please note when the combo ticket can be used
The combo ticket can be used at Omi Jingu Shrine from Saturday, July 18, 2026. However, the Saikyo-ji Temple illumination starts on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Therefore, from Saturday, July 18 to Friday, July 24, 2026, the Saikyo-ji Temple portion of the combo ticket cannot be used.
If you visit Omi Jingu during this period and receive the paper ticket for Saikyo-ji Temple, please use it at Saikyo-ji Temple on an eligible illumination date from Saturday, July 25 onward.
Reception for the combo ticket at Omi Jingu Shrine is available only until Sunday, August 23, 2026, the final day of the Omi Jingu illumination.
If you complete reception at Omi Jingu by Sunday, August 23 and receive the paper ticket for Saikyo-ji Temple, the paper ticket can be used at Saikyo-ji Temple on eligible illumination dates until Sunday, September 6, 2026.
5 Please check transportation if visiting both venues on the same day
Omi Jingu Shrine and Saikyo-ji Temple are different venues.
If you plan to visit both on the same day, please check travel time and public transportation schedules in advance.
Public transportation may be limited at night. We recommend planning your route with enough time, including the option of traveling by car or taxi.
The travel time by car is approximately 15 minutes.

From Saturday, July 18 to Friday, July 24, 2026, the Saikyo-ji Temple illumination has not yet started, so the Saikyo-ji paper ticket cannot be used during this period.
Reception for the combo ticket at Omi Jingu Shrine is available until Sunday, August 23, 2026.
If you complete reception at Omi Jingu Shrine by Sunday, August 23, the Saikyo-ji paper ticket can be used on eligible illumination dates until Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Please keep the Saikyo-ji paper ticket safe until you use it.
